With the incredible success of the inaugural Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer benefit last year raising over $18K for the cause, the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) is now in gear for the 2nd Annual benefit concert to be held on March 23, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Loveless Barn in Nashville, TN. The concert will feature intimate and rare acoustic performances by some of Country Music’s elite songwriters; Rodney Crowell, Gretchen Peters, Mike Reid, Barry Walsh and Peter Cooper, set against the venue’s signature Southern charm.
This evening was inspired and created by four time Grammy nominee Charlie Kelley who was diagnosed and treated for colon cancer at the age of 40 in Fall 2008 and only three weeks after his wife Nan Kelley, a host on the Great American Country (GAC) cable network, successfully completed treatment for a different form of cancer. Charlie was fortunate enough to have been diagnosed at an early stage and has made a full recovery. After this life changing experience, Kelley resolved to advocate for screenings and help others battling with the disease.
Event tickets go on-sale today and are available at the Colon Cancer Alliance website, www.ccalliance.org, and the Loveless Barn box office the day of the show. General admission is $35. Exclusive blue ribbon tables are also available for $500 and include front row tables (four seats per table).
