  • Carrie Underwood Focuses On Our “Temporary Home”

Carrie Underwood has won nearly every award possible, her most recent being her 5th Grammy. These accomplishments are meaningful, but her latest single reminds us that this world is “just a stop on the way to where we’re going.” The powerful lyrics of this co-written song match perfectly with the video. If you cried when merely listening to the song, you’ll certainly need a box of Kleenex for the video! The message of “Temporary Home” was inspired while Carrie was reading the award winning “Purpose Drive Life.” The initial segment of the video features a boy who has been shuffled from foster home to foster home. The second segment features a mother and daughter struggling to make ends meet in the current economic state. The final segment features Carrie playing the part of a woman spending the last precious moments with a dying loved one. If you already found yourself with a few tears trickling down your face, be prepared for a complete waterfall during the final segment! This video is the epitimy of what we love about country music. It tells a story, tugs on your heart strings, and leaves you feeling uplifted. Don’t let the tears fool you, this is supposed to be a postive song that reminds us that the things of this “Temporary Home” will pass.
