Ready Set Don`t Go by Billy Ray Cyrus.

Billy Ray Cyrus wrote this song for his daughter Miley when she was ready to leave for hollywood to become a star.
When Billy Ray Cyrus sings this song, he puts in all his feelings and emotion.

This song is so beautiful. Every parent will go through this. Once your child is old enough it leaves his home.
We as parents hope it will never come to this. You see your child when it was small, then it goes to school. After many years you celebrate her graduation.

I remember when our daughter left to join the service.
She thought she was ready to leave the home she grew up in.
I`m as her mother didn`d want to let her go.
As parents you want the best for your child, even if I was crying inside, I had to let her go with a smile on my face.

So Small is a song on Carrie Underwood’s sophomore album, “Carnival Ride”. It is the song that gets me through the lowest points of my life and it has not only helped me but quite a few of my friends. My family has had some troubles and my life has been rocky for a little while, but when I lock myself in my room and sit on my bed and turn this song on… the whole world just seems to melt away and all that’s left is me and Carrie’s beautiful, soulful voice that sends shivers down my spine.

I’m originally from former Yugoslavia so I never knew my family because of the civil war that disbanded and killed off most of my relatives. And although it seems like a terrible thing… this little song, this 3 minute and 46 second song makes all that disappear and remind me that everything is okay as long as I have my family and my friends and I have Carrie Marie Underwood to thank for that.

“Whenever You Remember” – Carrie Underwood

Like many others, so many songs have touched my heart and made such a huge impact on my life it’s hard to choose just one. The reason I selected “Whenever You Remember” is because I remember just a year and a half ago when I graduated high school. This song had the best timing. I had such mixed feelings about graduating, and this song made me realize that it didn’t matter what happened after graduation; no one can take my high school memories from me. On one hand, they’re great memories, the friends I made, the acheivements I had, but on the other hand, my senior year, was one of the hardest years everyone in the graduating class must have had. Two of our peers’ lives were taken from us. Though I was never close with either of them, I still think about them, and the lives that they had an impact on. So many people cared for them, and it was so hard to go through those first few weeks. They know they were loved and I know that I will hold they’re memory dear to me even though I was never granted the opportunity to truly know them. I’m sure that all their friends will look back and remember all the great times they had with each other. They will never be forgotten. R.I.P. Elliot and Sam.

“My Wish” by Rascal Flatts is probably one of the songs that has touched my heart. When I was going through a very difficult time in my life, my mom was there and was my rock. Once this song came out on radio she dedicated it to me. When I was away from home she wrote me in a journal and wrote the lyrics then highlighted “I hope you know somebody loves you.” Every since then I haven’t been able to listen to that song and not remember everything that we’ve been through, and all the troubles we had to go through to make it to where we are now. When words couldn’t get through to me, this song did. The song is overall powerful that I’m sure touched many people not just me. It’s true that country music makes a difference.

I am 50 years old and have loved country music and so many artists all my life…I lost my husband of 20 years to a 6 week battle with cancer in Feb ’08 and my grandmother just 3 weeks later and just this week, on Mon 11/16/09, I lost my mother to a 10 year, hard fought and coureageous battle with heart disease. The wounds are still open and raw and I miss them but most esp my dear, sweet, determined fighter of a woman that I was so proud to call mom. I have so many songs that have touched me in so many ways in my life but the 2 that seem to just keep playing in my mind is Keith Anderson’s I Still Miss You and Jake Owen’s Green Bananas…Thanks for giving me this wonderful opportunity to express how I am feeling right now…You certainly don’t know what tomorrow might bring and I still miss you, (All of you )

The song that has had the most impact on me is
Some Gave All by Billy Ray Cyrus. Before my husband died he loved to listen to Billy Ray. He was a veteran so when he died unexpectedly of a blood clot to the heart This song brought back feelings to me. My husband had a military funeral. The flag was over his casket and then folded and given to me. After hearing the song “Some Gave All” many times at concerts I attended I asked my family if they would care if I gave the flag I had to Billy Ray. Outside of his fan club office was a flag flying that was in need of replacement. My children all said it was okay with them if I gave it to him. I gave it to him at the next fan club party I attened.. Some time later I was up inside the fan club and saw a flag flying in his music room. I didnt think much of it till much later when I was talking to Billy Ray. He said yes that was my flag. I asked him to please take a pic of himself in front of the flag. He said no and that shocked me. He then said I needed to come up and have my picture taken with him in front of the flag. Wow to be invited like that was wonderful to me. My friends and I were going that way shortly after that and arrangements were made for us to meet Billy Ray there and have the picture made. He told me that the flag would hang there long after he was there. This impressed me so much.And today I think about this everytime I hear him sing this song which he does at every concert.

Many of Carrie Underwood’s songs touch my heart. There is a great sense of emotions in most of her songs. Most recently I have been touched by Change off of her new album Play On. Change is one of many inspirational/touching songs on her new album. For me it just provokes deep call to action in making a difference because every little bit that one person does helps in the long run. Even if you can’t contribute much it’s the though that counts and just trying to change the world is not foolish on your part. It’s a great theme song for giving back and the commercials on tv about children in Africa or the ASPCA animal commercials. I love the emotion Carrie is able to display through her performances and songs. It is truly amazing!

My fav song is Dierks Bentley’s , Every Mile A Memory. My husband travels alot with work. He called me up one day and played Dierks song for me. It’s tough being apart sometimes but the reunion is awsome. He knows how much I love Dierks music. I am in the fan club and saw Dierks in concert this summer. So having my husband do this made me cry. I love my guy and hope Dierks continues to put great music out there. Have a wonderful day….Dawn

The song that has touched my heart is Carrie Underwood’s cover of “How Great Thou Art”. I had seen it on a Gospel special on GAC. As I listened to Carrie’s rendition of this song I just melted in my chair. Then like a “Beam from Heaven” something pierced my soul! Something that has been lost for 25 years came back to me. WORDS were coming to me at all hours of the day and night. No matter where I was or what I was doing these words were coming TO ME!! So I would just write them down. After about two weeks the words stopped and I had two full pages of sentences. I sat there and started to put them together forming a poem. At one time I “felt” my Mother being with me as I could hear her say “Tell her exactly how you feel, don’t hold anything back”. It felt so strange hearing this as my Mother has been gone for almost a year. After about a week I had the first poem I have written in 25 years!! It was a Birthday poem for Carrie. I have shown this poem to professional’s and they tell me it IS very good! I will never publish this as this means MORE to me than anything in the world. Why? Because of the way Carrie Underwood presented “How Great Thou Art” I now have poetry back in my life again. For me being as shy as I am, poetry is the best way I know how to express my feelings. And Carrie has shown me to NOT to be afraid of expressing my feelings No Matter What. Thanks You and Take care.

A country song that has touched my heart is “An Old Friend of Mine” by Joe Nichols. It is a powerful song to anyone who struggles with any type of addiction. When I first heard this song I began to cry because you can feel it deep down inside. You start to understand what someone has to go through to realize that they have to say goodbye to this horrible addiction.
